I just finished painting the calipers of our Torch Red Vette. Of course I painted the calipers red and I did the brackets silver and the rotor hats flat black. I think it looks lots better and I'll get pics when it stops raining.
The pragmatic Mrs Zozzie asked why I would paint them, especially red. I had to think for a second and answered that it made them stand out and look finished but again she asked "why?"
Finally I told her that if she had to ask, she wouldn't be able to understand the answer (if I could come up with one).
I painted mine bright red, along with the brackets and the backs of the pads, then the rotors themselves in silver. It just looks good!
Just pin it back on them:
why do you paint your calipers? same reason why you paint your nails.
why do you need another set of wheels for the same car? same reason that you need more than one pair of shoes.

Invaluable advice I think my wife will be getting these answers when I paint my calipers
I'm sure it looks good Zozzie...I'll be for some pics.
I didn't paint mine a bright color, they are actually body matched (calipers and brackets) to my silver paint. Everyone seems to do red and IMO, different is better
Zozzie - I'm assuming you purchased a Red Caliper Paint Kit, what paint did you use for the brackets? Buy another Silver Kit? What did you use for the white lettering?
I just bought a Red kit, but wondered about the lettering.
