I've never really thought about it until now, but I bought my 2000 a little over a year ago and it has the Homelink three-button opener installed on the driver's visor. Was this a factory or possibly a dealer option? It looks like it came on the car...and it's much better than packing around a giant garage door opener.

No it wasn't an original fit or an option

A lot of guys did the DIY mod a few years ago. Looks like your PO did you a favor

Nope, it wasn't an option, and oddly enough, neither were heated seats. I've done the DIY mod and added homelink to my visor too (still my favorite mod to date) and only cost me $30 total.

I'm still debating on dropping $240 for the dual seat heaters. Hell my girlfriend would probably pay for it, but I have no idea how tough it is to get the skins off.

The homelink and heated seats should have been available, but neither one were.
My heated seats are one of my favorite mods. A must have item!

So how did you get the homelink for $30?.......I think it's a great option but seems to be 5 times that.

...EBAY/salvage yard/DIY project...
A search in C5 technical will yield the past discussions...use keywords "homelink" to find those discussions and images. There is a supporting vendor that sells a finished visor, but it's not inexpensive.
