[QUOTE=vettelover84;1562474919 The car is in IL, and will be in Colorado. IL isn't so bad sometimes but we will see about CO. I hope I don't have to store the Z at all!!! [/QUOTE]
They put cinders on the roads in Colorado. I drove to Colorado Springs a few years ago and couldn't believe all the little chips in the paint and windshield of our brand new Ford Escape. You might want to consider something to protect the front of your car.

I refuse to store mine for the winter. There are plenty of non-snow or dry road days in Indiana, just like Pennsylvania. I didn't buy my C5 to deprive myself of the pleasure of driving it year-round, They don't break at zero or ten degrees either.
Why store the car until it snows or rains and freezes and salt is on the roads This is the best time to drive the car here in Iowa, no BUGS!!!
I'll put it to "bed" when the weather dictates, not just because it's "cold". How does being cold mean the car should be stored??
PS- yeah, the top will probably stay up till Spring!

I'll take mine out on even the coldest of days and get it up to temperature if the roads are clear and dry. Over the last 2+ years, it easily made it out every month during the winter.
I have to admit that I'd be a bit more cautious in Iowa, though. The bugs are terrible in the summer, but it usually takes until mid-April to get all of the sand off of the road.
I feel your pain, used to live in upstate NY. Now in the sunny south and the Vette stays on the road year round. You are doing the right thing. So keep that in mind and look forward to spring.
Well today i put her sta-bil in her little gas tank, attached her battery tender-plus and put on her new cover i bought from Mid America and then i said good bye to her and i love you car and i will uncover you next summer when the weather gets nice and warm and their are no more bad things on the road for you to run over and chip your paint. This is a very sad time of the year from me i get so depressed when i have store her for the winter but she is in my garage and ever so often i will probably take a peek at her when i am really down and depressed because i am not driving her.I am sure i am not the only one who feels this way. You mean that between now and next summer there will never be a day to drive a nice car in PA. That is hard to believe. We get bad weather here in Louisville, no not as bad as you, but we also get days of clear sun and real cool. Boy do these cars run fast when it is cold. Enjoy it, clean it, drive it, it will not get ruined if you get a spot of dirt or whatever on it. It is only a car.

My Harley is the same way, sounds and runs awesome in the cold air, it loves it!!
I've only had my Corvette for about a month. It used to be a garage queen (2002 with 1100 miles when I bought it), it won't be one anymore.
I never store my Harley and I won't be storing my Vette. There are plenty of chances to get out through the winter months, even on the Harley. I'm a cancer survivor going on 4 years now. Maybe I won't be here next Spring, maybe I will.
No snow + No ice + No salt =
That's why I live in Helena, MT. Drove the 2001 Green Roadster home from work this last Wed. with the top down. It was in the 70,s clear as a bell, and just a skiff of now on the highest mountains. Vette Roadsters, rule.
I'm putting our 2001 coupe to hibernation this week. Run Flats don't like the cold. We keep the C3 at home and drive that when the weather is nice here in Minnesota. Last year we drove it most of November and a few days in December. Once they put down some salt - it also goes into hibernation.
