Default tuning

i have a 2000 corvette coupe 6spd. it has a calloway air induction system (honker) i have wanted to get the car "tuned" was wondering what can i expect? does it really help performance , horsepower ,etc.?

It will help some, but most people wait until they have done some additional mods (like cam, heads, LT headers, etc) before spending close to $500 on a tune. The tune might get you 15-20 hp or so.

It will help a little maybe 15hp. The stock tunning is fairly conservative with the timing and A/F ratios. If your planning on more mods like LT's and a cam wait until then you can expect better results.

15 hp would be high gain for a tune on a stock motor. More like 5-10 hp.

On a 2000 I'd change to the LS6 intake for about $350.

You should be able to pull 10-15 HP from the tune,the price should be 250-300 because that tune only requires an hour and a half. You can also adjust fan on and off limits and get rid of that 1-4 skip shift.Your car will respond better also.If you are not planning mods such as a cam,heads,LT headers,then go for the tune.
