Same thing happened to me fob would not work. No metal in my pocket walked along the road about one city block found 2 screws 1 nail put nail head to cover off it came.
Same thing happened to my wife. I was in Tucson partying with my three brothers and had my fob with me. She had to move my car to put food in the freezer. Well all she had to do was call me and I could have told her how to get the magnet out but NO she took a screw driver and scratches the **** out of the magnet . I sanded and painted the one she ruined but it still didn't look right so I bought two more.

The one i have i bought off of one of the vendors on the forum can not remember his name and it is not a magnet it just has a part that fits into the lock part of the key hole it is just plastic and works quite well never falls out and to remove it i just use my fingernails and it leaves no scratches
I had my alarm go off yesterday and had to pull out my plastic key hold cover. Needless to say the paint on it got scratched. My plan going forward..........take them both off. They are expensive and not worth it.
