I am in Kennesaw (20 mins North of Atlanta), and I go to car washes that utilitizes recycled water. I bring my own bucket, sponge, Dawn detergent (ppl look at me funny when I use that ) and only pay for the water.

"A man with his priorites clearly so far out of whack doesn't deserve such a fine automobile."
No not special just too old for political Bull ****. They have 180 damn days of water in lake.Three states are fighting over it and if thats not enough the damn Corps of Engineers are releasing billions of gallons a day for fuging mussels in northern Fla. The only time I ever had Mussels they tasted like they were raised on diesel fuel. The damn city water system hemmorages millions of gallons a day 14% of the meters don,t work and they estimate usage.Today the paper said the Gov,s place even had some non functioning meters. They expect us to let our trees & shrubs die they want us not to flush they want us to put a bucket in the shower they have dumb *** people narcing on one another. The generation before me fought and died for freedom but the damn govener is Hitler and the narcs are the storm troopers and if this bothers any of you reread first sentence
Interesting to see all the comments and some of the challenges, particularly against jjvet's comment.
To expand on my own comment, I think you just need to take it in balance. I lived in Vegas for nearly 4 years where for most of my time there was a serious drought. When the drought became severe the heavy restrictions were put in place. Water the lawn once a day in summer and no washing cars.
At the same time I'd drive around and there would be rivers of water running down the street from a leak. There were fountains in every neighborhood and lawns covering the whole of a house frontage. Many houses had pools.
In perspective, my bucket of water once a week seemed conservative.
I'm careful with water. I don't run the faucet unnecessarily. We run the dishwasher when its full. We take a shower not use the tub. If you can see where you've created an offset thats good enough for me.
All that said we're not short of water in England at present. We had the worst floods in a long time last year. Even so, most years there's a hose pipe ban in Summer. Sometimes the water levels are down; sometimes its an excuse for lack of planning by the water companies.
I think we all need to conserve water but you can't legislate for everything. Common sense needs to be applied.
Ultimately, your vette is a major asset which most of us have worked hard to acquire. I want to look after mine because I plan to keep it a long time and to do that I wash it at least weekly and I need water. The nearest car wash is 5 miles away. If I drive there and back I've used 1/2 gallon of gas at $8 a gallon and pumped the appropriate amount of carbon into the atmosphere.
We all have to make a reasoned judgement against dumb rules and even, against in this case, smart rules.
