Car sitting for a month, battery got a little to low to start her, neutral and rolled her out of garage and jump started, all's well but the check engine light is on, no reason other then battery was low - HOW DO YOU RESET CHECK ENGINE light to make it go off without wasting time at stealership, telling them nothings wrong??? Thank in advance.....
Clear your codes. Because you had a low voltage condition on the PCM from the dead battery. Be sure to get it charged up or replaced.
1) Turn on the ignition but don't start the engine.
2) Press the "RESET" button to turn off any warning messages
3) Press and hold "OPTIONS"
4) While holding "OPTIONS", press "FUEL" four times within a 10-second period.
Initially, on-board diagnostics go into an "Automatic Mode" which shows diagnostic codes in a pre-set sequence: PCM - TCS - RTD - BCM - IPC - RADIO - HVAC - LDCM - RDCM - SCM - RFA. All codes will be displayed for each module. If none are present in a given module, you will see "No More Codes" on the display.
To reset the codes once in manual mode, press and hold "RESET" until it displays "NO CODES".

At least with a top post AC Delco on an 04 you should be safe from leaking battery.
As suggested I'd still check the codes and clear them down. If you had a powerr interrupt you'll have a lot of lost comms codes which would confuse any future diagnostics.
