I drove my car in Albequercky once. It felt slow as ****. And I'm use to 3000 ft of Tucson where the NHRA correction factor gave me .5 seconds. I've never had a chance to play with my car at sea level but it must feel stronger. As I see it, the problem with correction factors is since our cars are traction limited for a while, the extra power we would have with better air would be useless for a while and therefor we would see less of an improvement in times than the correction factor would suggest. Am i right or wrong about that?

Default It's NOT an excuse...

I live in Colo Spgs at 6000+ feet... I took a trip to Houston last week and the difference was amazing. I've heard that you lose 20% at 6,000 feet - don't know how accurate that is, but my 99 C5 with exhaust and intake mods should be around 350+HP... that would be a 70HP reduction at 6,000 feet. At sea level I could feel the additional power even in normal driving - didn't get a chance to race, but I have no doubt that the results would have been dramatic. It's not an excuse - it's reality.
