Default Recognize this exhaust?

Does anyone recognize this exhaust. It's on my 2K I bought a couple months ago but I haven't seen any pictures with this kind on it. I looking at long tubes and removing the cats and wondering if I will need some mufflers.

Thanks, in advance!

Steve

I believe that is a Stainless Works Exhaust system. How does it sound?

They are the only one I've seen with the chambered mufflers. BTW, that setup will be really loud with headers and no cats.

Looks like the system that I took off my 2000. Mine appears to be a Mid America chambered system. Very loud.

I'm not going to "bash" the systems, but I'd like to ask, what the hell is the point spending the money on "stainless" pipe system, only to have the welds and cheap clamps rust ?

Yep, that picture matches up. Kind of pricy in their day, huh?

I knew as soon as the dealer started it that it wasn't factory exhaust. I've got true dual 3" Flowmaster 40's on both my '89 GMC and '80 383 Malibu so I know what noisy (and drone) is.

Generally I like a good sounding exhaust but when shopping for the Corvette I actually used the aftermarket intake (K&N) and aftermarket exhaust to help knock the price down. That's all that had been changed and the car hasn't been beat on. The sound is not too bad but, as someone else mentioned in this thread, why in the world spend all that money on stainless exhaust and use cheap *** clamps that rust anyway.

Also, I don't like the way they are crimped down to 2" or less. At my mod level it doesn't matter but it will someday.

Guess I'll find out and weld the cats back in if I have to.

Thanks,

Steve

Default You need an X-pipe

That system will sound phenominally better if you put an X-pipe in the mix...

My 2 cents

Looks like sh##. For 864 bucks youd think they would add someting to it. Looks like something Joses muffler shop would cobble together for a low rider.
