I DD my C5 to work everyday since its only a 5 mile round trip, but I work on a Air Force and on the way out of the base they have these tire strips so if you backed up they will pop your tires, my only problem is that my C5 is lowered on stock bolts and when I go over these tire strips it rubs across my whole undercarriage, was wondering if this will cause some damage in the future and should I solve this problem by raise my c5 back up or maybe just buy some bigger rims just have to get the wife on board for that, I just don't want to raise my c5 back up because it will look ridiculious with my rims I have now and the tire profile! I go at a angle now and it mostly just rubs on the panels underneath my car now and not so much the engine or oil pan, so i figured going at a angle that if it rubbing against my panels underneath that it wouldn't cause any damage, just looking for some opinions. Thanks everyone. Any suggestions or thoughts thanks.
Will 18x10.5 rims fit on the front of my car so maybe I can buy some 19's for the back and solve my problem.
Difficult to give cast iron advice but my opinion for what its worth. The floor of the C5 is a very light material which is covered with a protective coating. Can't remember what the coating is but the core is balsa wood IIRC. If you wear through that coating with constant rubbing from the metal spikes it would be extremely bad. You could lose structural integrity. Not saying it will happen but maybe something worth thinking about.
I'd go back to stock height if it were my call.
BTW, I used to work at Nellis AFB. The speed ramps on exit were bigger than Mt Charleston. I had a few scrapes there when I exceeded 2 mph You just have to love the Security folks
do you think putting on 19's in the back will fix this problem? I rather just throw my 18's to the front and buy some 19's for the back plus I always wanted 19's
Yes I totally hate how much security these is by the gates its insane, you would think barriers would be enough along with pop up barriers but nope got to add that strip of spikes.

Depends how much clearance you have. It can't do any harm but I doubt it.
Maybe you could just raise it back up a few turns on the lowering bolts?
