Default Why me?

I bought my 2002 vert in June and was very happy until the following occured: fuel gage stuck, catalytic converter went out, driver seat frame broke, air conditioner condenser drain plugged, had weird electrical issues (fixed by cleaning ground connections), found out I had cracks in both rear wheels (thin spokes), Secondary air injection system bank two stuck closed, rear oxygen sensor bad, and finally the slave cylinder for the clutch just went. Is this bad luck or what! Thanks to this forum I have been able to keep this car running but the clutch issue is going to wipe me out. Whew I feel better just getting this rant out. Don't get me wrong I love this car I just hope it starts loving me back.

54k miles. I bought it with 50k. Like I said I would have sold it if not for this forum. It was my dream to get this car electron blue with black top. But it is turning into a nightmare.

It sounds like somebody beat the tar out of that car before you bought it. My 97 has only had 1 of those problems....the clogged drain. It's a shame. I hope you get it sorted out. I agree that this forum is very helpful.

Oh I forgot, the turn signal issue. Yea had that too. But I ordered a new flasher unit and it ended up back ordered with the order dropped. Guess what. They are working good now.

As the sports car saying goes... It's not the cost of buying it but maintaining that's the real cost.

Default Sounds like a "normal" Vette to me

Almost all of the problems you have stated are found in the sticky. So I'd say, considering it had 50K on the ticker, these problems either already existed or were due to occur soon.

My 1998 Coupe has 109,000+ miles on it and I have had only 2 problems: oil pressure sensor and one headlight gear.

WOW that's lots of problems. I've got an 02 with similar mileage and have only had to repair the headlight gears and the EBCM.

On the positive side you've fixed a lot of issues that may have popped up later in your cars life. When others are making those repairs yours are already done.

Hopefully you see the bright light at the end of the tunnel and is not a train.

Mine was worse. Clutch blew up (taking out both pieces of aluminum bell housing, starter, flywheel, throwout bearing and starter), Body Control Module went out, oil pan leak. Drivers door control module went out, FOB (keyless entry) died, oil pressure sending unit died, gas tank sending units went bad, transmission seal leaked and drivers upholstery ripped all in 50K miles. All of these have occurred to other vetts at some time or another. I just hope I've paid my dues for quite some time and just enjoy the ride. Mine is a daily driver and I didn't get it new, so some of the problems I inherited when I bought it.
