I have a Garmin C550 and I love it. Swap it from the truck to the Vette and just use the windshield suction cup. I had a Tom Tom and I ended up swapping it for the Garmin. And the Garmin is bluetooth for the cell too!
I have Garmin 350 with portable base. Unit is very easy to use. Portable base let's you easily move unit to any car you wish. (Windshield mounts are illegal in the People's Republik of Minnesota [California, too] -- that's why I went with Garmin's portable base.)
Recently used the NAV and base on a 4000-mile trip. Both worked flawlessly.
I've got a Garmin 2720, which was one of their better models, 3 years ago when I bought it. Doesn't have Bluetooth or play Mp3s but the Nav part is just like the current Nuvis. I love it and the SO and I swap it between the vette and her car. I like the Nav much better than the GM Nav in my Avalanche.
