I had this same problem with my NBM Coupe. Now look at the hood:
Mine was in bad shape. I purchased a product by Lanka from AutoGeek (http://www.autogeek.net/langka-paint...epair-kit.html) and used it to cover up all of the chips. The hood looks like it was painted. Then I Zaino'ed the hell out of it and you can't tell where I did the touch up unless you look at the car in an exact angle with the light hitting it just right. Only us **** folks will notice it, most people think it was just painted. Judge for yourself. Just look at the picture.
