I'm a new Corvette owner, 1 month, I put cds in the one in the back but and press cd it does not see them. The one on radio just says error. Are they both bad?
It can also be that your battery is getting low... The CD changer is notorious for not working when the voltage is low on a battery.
In my Garage Queen, I had a battery for several months that was sub par and the changer did not work. When I put a new battery in, wah-lah!! It worked. I have seen others post similar experiences pertaining to the Battery and the changer, etc. It's worth a look.
Look on the passenger side, under the carpet and the plastic cover that goes over the rocker panel. You will find the cable that runs to the 12 CD changer. Try disconnecting the plug, turn the radio on, select aux (or whatever you did to get the changer before), and plug the plug back in while its searching for it.
Here is another simple "gotcha" item on it... load your CD's correctly and close the door. WAIT. Don't start the car. WAIT, till you hear its done cycling through them all. Then start the car. If you start the car before its completed, all you will get is the error indicator. The reason is that starting the car, disconnects power from it, so the loading process stops.

That's what was happening with mine til I figured it out right after I got mine.
I hope you get this working. If you do not you have the perfect set-up to add an Ipod interface. It plugs into the cable that connects into the changer. I considered adding a changer until I read several posts discussing Ipods. I have an Ipod Nano that holds 1,000 songs. You bring it into the house and connect it to the PC and create playlists, etc. The audio is as good as cd or better. The cost is about $100 for the interface. Just my .02.
I had that happen also. Had to replace the batt. and then radio wouldn't recognize the changer. Fix? took 12 disk cassette out and reinstalled it. Radio recognized it then. Only happened once even with numerous batt. unhook/hook ups.

When I bought my 01 this year, the changer didn't work. When I had it checked they said it was in the connection on the changer side and it would need replaced, Ah I love those warranties and the new changer works great
I had a used one that went bad. There was a CD that was jammed inside the changer. It was hard to see until opening the CD changer door and looking in with a flashlight.
Also, make sure the CD's are loaded correctly.

Whoa whoa whoa... ok before you go taking apart anything, just try the easy stuff first. When I first got my car I thought it was broken too because I had the same problem. First of all, make sure the CD's are facing label DOWN in the disc trays. I made the mistake of putting them in like a normal CD player and it read ERROR.
Secondly, make sure your ignition is in the RUN position when you put the CD case inside the changer. Whenever I do it when the car is off, it will never read my CD's. So just pop the thing in there, slide the little door shut, and wait for the player to read all the CD's. When it is reading the CD's you'll hear the changer making alot of noise and you'll see the CD symbol in the radio flash. When it stops flashing that means its done.
Then try listening to the CD's. If it still doesn't work... try some of the other stuff people suggested.
