Where was this when I needed it? Had my car in for warranty work, so I asked them to order a second key......Went in and paid...lady said $60.00. Three weeks later, the service writer called to say the key needed to be paid for......Seems the cashier charged for "programming only", so then had to pay $49.00 for the key....Bought fob on e-bay for $12.00. Gotta love them dealerships
Just read your post with the "values" from doing a search. Was wondering the procedure for checking resistance of my present key with ohm meter is. I need to get a spare key.
This was very helpful. I have two working fobs for my 1997 Cadillac but one key was damaged or the original owner had something changed as only one key worked. With streetkeys.com I found a I can get a replacement for $14.95 plus cost of having someone local cut it, just need to get my ohm range. Nice. Thanks!
