Honestly, what good does this post do for ANYONE and why would anyone post proof they can't handle a car like a Corvette.

By posting, he opened himself up to hear all opinions. I have no sympathy for him...

When someone like this (that can get a car, so he says, 4 feet in the air, alone on the road) and wreck the car hurts or worse yet kills a friend or family member of yours, you'll feel differently, trust me....

One other thing, you say "It can happen to the best of us." What this guy did will NEVER happen to me...... Guaranteed. I know how to drive and handle a car, I respect the cars capabilitiies and respect others on the road, and I know Physics and how it applies to driving.
Just a bit of advice, NEVER SAY NEVER, that will come back to haunt you EVERY TIME!! Excuse me, while I spit the shoe out of my mouth.
DEJA VUE, I've been there before! I don't think any of us set out to do the bad things that happen, and when bad things do happen, I think that's what forgiveness is about. My heart goes out to everyone who has been on the receiving end of bad things, and those, in a split second of stupidity, perpetrated the mess. Unfortunately, I've experienced both sides of that equation...............and learned from it.

Default Wonder if he will post again ?

Wonder if he will come back with more details or pictures. The way this post went, I wouldn't blame him for not ever posting again.

John
I was trying to imply the same thing. Diplomatically.

In my estimation, it is akin to predicting the future.

Define "irony"...

Let us hope that he will NEVER have to...

I have put enough years under my belt that show me life is fragile-

And even more so with God's gift to automobiles.

Thanks for your prayers, but I know how to drive.

I don't need your help.

Only help I need is from the others out there to control what they have.

I can handle what I drive.

I have learned from some of the best on some of the best road racing courses.

I save that kind of driving for just that, the race courses.

On the street, it ain't gonna happen to me... I will not be the cause of an accident, especially like this guy who did it all by himself.

Sorry but smug people get into accidents too. Your fault or not, it can happen.

The only time I can get my vette to really break loose is gunning it from a slow speed. I guess I need more mods or bald tires, damn!

Sorry, he ain't gonna get any sympathy from me! And if the original post was for real (and I doubt that it was), the only reason to post something like that is to get sympathy! The intelligent people aren't going to drive like that, and the idiots aren't going to pay any attention anyway!!!

PS "Lone sword" doesn't have anything else to say?

Like how the hell can you take out the whole front left suspension, get the car four feet in the air and not have the air bag deploy? Figure that one out!!!

Wow. Like I said, I crashed. And I don't need your sympathy. When I get the police report, I'll PM you the witness numbers so you can go cry to them about how high I didn't fly through the air. And don't blame me for driving by you next time your stuck on the side of the road and need help. As for others I appreciate the your feedback. Before I thought I could control the torque of the C5 but now I have a new found respect for the car. I never gased it at a low gear like that, it was always in 3rd but this time I was rolling in second.

Anyway, the insurance lady will call tomorrow. The damage is just the the body panels, rims and left suspension. I slid into a curb and it took the whole wheel and everything with it. What can I say, live and learn.

On another note. I'll have the rear end looked at after the repairs to see if anything was not working. I'll post pics on tuesday.

this thread has become redundant.

it now seems to be an "it is what it is and aint gonna change"

We now know who the PRO's are and who the JackA$$es are...

Thanks so much for the enlightenment.

For all you guys out there who are PERFECT, I will pay you to teach me how to be like you.

That way I will never need insurance.

Unless, of course, it is someone with imperfections that I get tangled with

Could even be IBTL?

Thanks for posting again.

Is this your first winter with your C5? The reason I am asking is that the cold air causes more horsepower and reduced traction, which can be a bad combination ! Most high performance tires are "summer tires" and do poorly when temperatures approach freezing. Until I got my C5, I thought all radial tires were rated for M&S !

Hope everything comes out good for you and your Vette.
