New MPG standards

He has a territory and covers ground all day long? You are the one that said 'reasonable' implying there is even a standard for 'a reasonable distance'. You are the one taking it personally. I'm an idiot? You are the one saying things that should only come out of a communist dictators mouth, not me. I know people, numerous actually, that live more than 1 hour from work. I also know people who drive to another state and work for weeks, and then drive to another state and work for a day, or maybe a week, and then come home and commute an hour to work until they have to go out of state again.
Don't get your panties in a wad, but you have no right telling people they should 'live a reasonable distance' from work.
-p.s. that 'blocked list' is for YOU to put ME on if you don't want to see my posts. I need to keep a close eye on communists like you, so I won't be putting YOU on MY blocked list.
let me tell you more about me.
I live in Texas. Every Monday morning I board a plane to New Mexico or West Texas and drive ALL day EVERY day to see car dealerships. Every Friday morning I board a plane back home.
Please don't give me the traveling salesmen bit.
What I am advocating is to CONTROL the CONTROLLABLES! Nothing more. If you feel guilty because you know you are doing something that might dirty up your town, that's personal to you. Communism? Another genius comment..... I am from Texas, friend. We eats Commies for breakfast!
edit: And regarding racing vs. Suburbans to Starbucks, I agree. It's a little contradictory. However, I race a car 6 weekendseach year. Starbucks visits are every singleday by many more people than there are racecar drivers. Now, could we get ridof racing altogether? I suppose. How would you feel about that? lol. not good, just like me. My advocacy is to do what you can. Not what I think you should do. I have never said what anyone else should do. I have simply thrown simple ideas out there. Take it or leave it, really....

The chit you are saying is contradictory. BAD suburban housewives driving to starbucks in their 'huge' mobiles, but you can race go karts (for no real purpose, some might argue) and drive fast in your performance car?
No, I just chose one point to harp on earlier to keep it simple for you. Your post had plenty of other 'bad' stuff to focus on, which I just did.
I am not referring to any major govt environmental story. If you READ my posts you will see that I am not advocating the govt diatribe. PLEASE ReREAD. You will see what my beliefs are in this very thread!
You are missing my point for your predisposition. I think that we are on the same page regarding the global warming myth. I have stated more than once that I do not believe it either! How can you miss this? Oh, because you are caught up in your reactionary kneejerk mindset.
Stop reacting and just read calmly. Go back and see what I have already said.
edit: I said this on 12-20:
higgs - I think Al Gore is an idiot. I do not think humans have a measurable impact on global warming. I do subscribe to the longer timeline of events and the current natural ending of the ice age we are still in.
Even if you don't want to stop driving your giant trucks, fine. At least stop eating beans. See? Do what you can.
It might be nothing at all. Fine! I really don't care who does what. I'm just saying that if you care or see room for change, you can do it. If you don't, that's fine, too. I'm really not saying anything more than that so don't put anymore words in my mouth.

It basically talks about how CAFE is a joke and a high price on gas is the only thing that will force people to change their behavior, etc. The high price should be done through taxation (and should apply to all fossil fuels and all usages of fossil fuels since automotive is a fraction of our usage).

We now have variable annual tax rates for engines that have higher emissions. Thats the theory. In practice its based on engine size; they don't care about how efficient the emissions are processed.
The good news is that high performance sports cars are still available. The bad news is that most DDs are smaller more fuel efficient engines.

They may or may not find it cost effetive and scrap the big ones.
Doesn't apply to trucks so they could classify the Vette as a Truck.
EL Corvetto?????

F..... Al Gore!! He lives in a 10,000 + square foot house in Tennesee and flies around the globe in a Gulfstream jet seriously polluting the Ozone layer. An inconvenient truth I would say.
