Guy wants a switch to turn his light off.........help him with an answer, not rag on him. Here is what you are looking for. I got one and love it. I to do not like my light on for 5+ minutes while the hood is up. Got mine from Ecklers, $40. Simple plug and play. Have to pop out the first couple hood blanket thingys to get your hand under the fabric to reach the light. Easy to do. P/N 50421.
Thanks for the info! You know, I figured when I posted this I'd get all the usual responses and I was not disappointed. Everybody wants to be a critic. Really!
Here's the Ecklers' part, actually a new harness with integrated switch:
This forum, while and excellent resource for information, is also a great source for practical advice. Why sit idly by and watch a fellow board member waste money on something that isn't needed or even worse, hack into his cars wiring, no matter how simple.
If the car already has a really nicely engineered timed switch that shuts the light off after only a few minutes, why hack in redundant lower tech manual toggle? Its just not a wise move.
While I don't disagree with what you're saying, bottom line is he seems interested in having a switch and it's his car to do with as he pleases.
I unplugged my hood light harness.

That's what i told him many threads ago just unplug the light harness it saves on buying something that really is not needed and it saves you money and extra work to put the switch in.

Let's just apply this to most any mod; BTW this is my first thread on the subject so don't know about the "many threads ago." Last but not least, refer back to post #3. We thank you for your support.
