Hey guys. I am in the process of buying a 2001 Z06 with only 17k miles on it. Its Mod Red with Red/Black Interior.... Flawless interior. No spider cracks in the seats! Car is bone stock with exception of....
5% Tint
Shorty Antenna
Skip Shift Eliminator
Short Throw Shifter
Black Z06s w/Chrome Lip - Has OEM wheels also
Brand New Goodyear Runflats
My questions are,
How rare of a car is this? Any way to find out?
Also what do 2001's usually put to the wheels? I saw one thread where it said he put down 329rwhp stock, but wanted to know if that was the usual or not.
Im buying it for $26k.... I consider it a pretty good deal considering its a very low mileage 01. Its a dealers personal car that he keeps on his showroom floor at all times. Carfax checks out clean as well.
I know the problems people have had with them, oil consumpiton and different clutchs, and different steering columns, but that doesnt bother me. If problems arise, well.... Ill suck it up and fix it.
Only reason Im getting this, is because this is exactly what I want. A Red Z06 with Red/Black Interior with under 20k miles on it.
Don't really know if its rare or not, but here's my 01 mod red interior Z
330 to 335 to the rear wheels stock sounds about right. I added some Dynamax long tubes, borlas, and opened the stock intake and dynoed 372 on a Mustang dyno.
I can't say the car is rare. Some will say that they think it will be collectible someday. It's a good price for a low mileage Z06 and the fun factor is Buy the car if it's what you want and don't worry about future value.
Love mine, prices are usually better for the 01's to boot. Got mine just under a year ago for $33500 up here in canada with dynatech long tubes, blackwing, B&B PRT's, new Toyo T1-R's, short shifter and tint all around plus it was a customer car and tuned in house. Oil consumption is an issue but if you're planning some motor work in the future, it's of no concern. Price is respectable for a well cared for car and low miles.
Thanx guys. Not really worried about future value. I am an Internet Sales Manager, so I know how future values change anyways. Ive already bought the car, I just have to go to Kentucky to pick it up. As soon as I get it home, its getting a bath and going right in the garage.

Glad to hear it can make some power with just bolt ons.... Just like any other LSx. So your actually around 39xrwhp on a dynojet. Nice.
Congrats on a nice car purchase! Not sure of the RARE factor, Torch Red was a pretty common color , 1623 as opposed to Speedway White which was @ 352 of the 5773 total 01/Z06's. The MOD RED Interior is a nice touch but I'm thinking not really rare. Before I purchased my Black 01, probably half the cars I looked at had the MOD RED Interior.
The Black Wheels and the shorty Shifter ( Hurst ?) are probably the only items that a Bone Stock connoisseur would ask about.
Great car, don't worry about RWHP, 2nd and 3rd gear will run you off the road if you are not paying attention.

I didnt know if there was a way to find out what number it was on the assembly line like I was able to do with my SS.... The Black Z06s are brand new with brand new rubber.... OEM runflats though. He has the stock shifter as well. Not too worried about the rwhp, just was wondering. My other 2 Camaros are well above this power.... My 99SS has over 5xxrwhp right now, so.... The most Ill probably ever do to this car is some Kooks or LG longtubes and a Halltech Intake.... But I said that about the Camaros too.
"Mod red" is the interior color (combo), while "Torch red" is the exterior color.
I KNOW that I've seen a breakdown in color combo production here... It was a while ago, but maybe a search will give you the actual breakdown. Anyway, I would imagine that that combo is NOT rare. Speedway white was the smallest production run, I believe, followed by MY with the mod red interior.
After heavily modifying my '93 Cobra, I, too, thought I'd keep the Z06 stock. That didn't last long. lol
Visit the Corvette Museum website, enter the VIN and you can order a buildsheet and original window sticker and gather all kinds of facts and specs that will give you most answers. I have a '01 Z06 in Torch Red with Black leather and with that low mileage, get it before someone else does. You will be amazed at what you get for your money. FYRITUP

Thats right. Ive been talking to you on the other forum and didnt even think to ask what yours put down.... I cant wait to get it.
It's an '04. They're all good! You're gonna love yours! For all practical purposes (other than HUD, etc etc), the same car. I went from a 1999 'vert to the '04 Z06, and it's been quite a ride since. Car has about 27k on it now (some of the earlier pics were from when it was new), and sadly don't get to drive enough anymore (put on maybe 2.8-3k the past 12 months).

I really only put about 5-6k miles on my Camaros a year, so.... Although the Camaros were more drag car based. We will see. I know Ill have close to 5xx miles on it the first day.... Driving home from Kentucky!!!
