Steve,

Prices vary WIDELY. When I was shopping I saw them from a high of about $1,600 to the low my wife found of $699

IMO, worth the $699, not $1600

They are very nice and have a great low beam pattern. But they also have some issues, like the high beams, while they look great, they were built into the housing pointing too low in comparison to the low beams. So when you adjust the lows correctly, the highs point too low.......they work, but for these prices the engineering should have been better IMO.

Great write up. Care to elaborate on the several "versions" comment? There is a group purchase under way and I think most of us know the storied history of the ACA kits. When you reference "versions" are there some versions we should shy away from in terms of quality, etc? Also, do you know what the difference in versions are? Thanks!

In the various write ups on CF I have seen ACA kits with different versions of the HID ballasts......some had the big thick ones, some like mine had the slim Phillips ballast. This is likely due to the date when the kit was purchased.

Did you have any issues with the wire being too short that ran from the housing to the ballast? I mounted the ballasts about 1/2" below the headlight mounting bracket and the one side was so short that I had to undo the metal connector on the bulb side and turn it 180 degrees and bend the 90 degree strain relief almost straight to get it to reach. On the other side I lined up the ballast just right so that I did not have to flip the connector. It did reach, but both wires on both sides have no slack.

From some of the pics on this forum, the older kits with the bigger ballasts seen to come with longer bulb/housing to ballast wires.

Has anyone else expereined this?

Really? I bought my kit from Corvette Garage. How long was the wire that you got in your kit? Mine was maybe 10-12". I may have to try and find someone who sells the wires alone.

Been there, done that

The current ACAs usually do not use the Phillips HIDs so there should be more clearance behind the low beam projector that you see in both Patches and my install photos.
