what are your plans for the car....go KOOKS in either 1 3/4" for N/A stock displacement plans or 1 7/8" for highly modded/FI applications. Kooks stainless headers are great quality, thick flanges, and make sick power....just prepare your pocket book before ordering...George at Kooks is a good friend of mine and stands behind all there custom headers.
Depending on where you live, yes. If you live in an area with strict emissions inspections, chances are if you remove the AIR system you won't pass the visual inspection. I am also pretty sure that if the kit you buy does not have provisions for AIR, it was also have a catless X-pipe. I purchased LTs with no provisions and removed my AIR system, but my car is registered in a county that does not require emissions testing.
If you decide to go without, you have two options. 1. You can leave the pump and line lines in the car, disconnected or 2. you can remove the lines and the pump. Personally removing everything would be best as it will clean up the engine bay, as well as shave some weight off the car.
If you go with option 2 like I did, you will need to remove the intake manifold to remove the bracket that holds the lines on the back of the block as well as have the codes tuned out. Removing the intake manifold and pulling the pump out of the front bumper was very easy, at least for me.
Do you need them? Depends on what you want to do or have already done to the car. If you don’t plan on removing the smog equipment, then yes, you need the fittings. If you’ve already removed or plan on removing the smog equipment, then you don’t need them.
