I'm considering an 01 convertible with 67,000 miles on it. They call it platinum but it looks like pewter to me with black interior and top. Automatic and dual zone ac but no hud or Z51. $19,900 is their price.
It does have memory seats and blose.

Sounds like a good buy, but that's hardly enough information to really answer the question. A4 or M6? If it's an A4, does it have the 3.15 final drive? What other options? What's the condition of the tires? Has the previous owner had any issues...and if so how were they resolved? Does it have the column lock bypass or has the recall been performed?
As far as the color is concerned - there was no such color as platinum. It could be either Pewter Metallic (11U) or Quicksilver Metallic (12U).
Have someone with experience detached from the deal with some C5 knowledge take a look at the car. It's not a deal if the car is a P.O.S.
Unfortunately it's at a Bill Heard store but here is a link to their site. Do a search for used inventory chevy corvette and you can see it. I havent seen the car in person yet but I'd like someone in the are that knows about C5's to check it out since I dont really know anything about them. http://www.bufordchevy.com/
Clean Carfax, good leather, carpet, interior trim, no body issues, good glass, tires, not beat on, drives and shifts well, why not?
I am so happy with my 2001, if you don't buy it, I might! Can never have too many Vettes!!
Check the codes in the DIC. Check if it has 3.15 gears using the codes in the glove box. If you are a performance nut then you will want the 3.15s. If you just like cruising then the others are fine. Check oil PSI to make sure the sensor isn't bad (if it reads normal it's ok and if it reads 80psi then somethings wrong).
Do a search and look for what other people recommend too. Someone asked similar question just a couple days ago so a thread should still be near by.
Best of luck and post about anything you aren't sure about.

Thanks, but I'm not sure about anything. What codes in the DIC? I'll have to print that list the other guy posted the link to. What is normal for the oil pressure?
