Your editing states that these are the height adjusting screws. If my memory of the manual serves me correct, the long one is for adjusting height and the short one is for horizontal adjustments.
Correct. My mistake - thinking one thing and typing another.
From the manual:
"Horizontal and vertical aiming of each of the composite headlamps is done by turning adjusting screws which move the headlamp capsule in relation to the headlamp frame. The horizontal adjustment screw (1) is located on the inboard side of each of the headlamp assemblies, covered by a plug (2) on the headlamp bezel. The vertical adjustment screw (3) is located on the inboard side of each of the headlamp assemblies, below the lower edge of the headlamp bezel."
I corrected the picture and reloaded it. Thanks for pointing that out.

Ed, great job..as usual from you. Color pics and arrows make all the difference. Once I get my kit completed, I will use your write-up on my laptop alongside the job. I might add, your grammar is excellent too! If I was your teacher you'd get an A+!
Nice write-up and pictures. I don't normally have anyone helping me so I don't really get a chance to take pictures. I pressume Mrs. Patches is your photographer ?

Not usually - she does help me out every so often and sometimes snaps a few pics but I'm usually the only one available to do the work and also take the pictures. It does extend the project time out quite a bit but I have found it's more than worth it and I enjoy sharing here, especially if it's a job that many have been asking about or are planning on doing.
Wow! The difference between these lights and stock is incredible as illustrated in the pictures you took. Blows me away. Thank you so much for taking the time to lay out all the steps for us. You have made my decision final
When you have the headlight assemblies out and on the table take a moment to soak the adjusters to free them up and then spray them with white lithium lube
Oh, and - I spent the day washing the Hummer and Mrs. Patches'
C5 in near-freezing weather so I can hold my head up high once again (for at least one day ).

Thanks for the great comments, guys.
I wish I had the time to take more pics, but I always seem to be in a rush. Thanks for your many post especially about your (4) post. That gave me the inspiration to get one for my projects. I re-did the garage and installed the (4) post lift with the aide of my brother.
BTW, my bro normally takes a bunch of the pic's when he's up from Virginia visiting.
