Default Battery Charge

I will be storing my car for approximately (3) months. Is there a device that will keep my battery charged during that time? If I don't have to, I would rather not disconnect the battery - unless I have to.

Thanks

Whenever she's sitting at home, she's plugged in.

Do a CF search for battery tender or battery minder or battery charger. Harbor Freight had a big sale on theirs recently and there is even one that is solar powered. Good luck!

I'd go with the Battery Tender Plus.

Been using them for years. No problems. Work great.

When not in use, the 'Vette and Harley are always hooked up to the Battery Tender.

And once you're back on the road you can keep the battery topped off. No danger of a dead batetry once you have a tender.

I have the CTEK Multi 3300 and it works great! When my car sits, I connect it to the top terminals on my Exide Orbital. Got mine from Chip @ CCA

Ok I'll bite... whats the difference between a battery tender and a battery tender PLUS? The reason why Im asking is I just went out to start my 01 for the first time in a week and the flippin' battery is dead.

Beings the battery's dead can I still hook up the battery tender or do I have to pull the battery and have it charged in order to get my car started? FWIW that battery's only a couple of years old

TIA

The battery tender is smaller and charges at 800ma

The battery Tender Plus is larger and charges at 1.25amps

Also FYI, there are two versions of the Battery Tender Plus one for regular batteries and one for Gell Cell batteries only.

People tend to use the words "battery tender" in generic terms, referring to any maintenance type charger.**
The BATTERY TENDER is a specific model manufactured by DELTRAN CORPORATION. They sell a BATTERY TENDER PLUS (@ 1.25 amp) and a BATTERY TENDER JR (@ .75 amp) and even units for charging multiple batteries at once. They have a wide range of float maintenance type chargers with warranties as long as 10 years. They're reverse polarity circuit protected and won't harm your sensitive C5/Z06 electronics. You can find them at most motorcycle shops or PEPBOYS.
The CTEK is the next generation of maintenance charger, referred to as a pulse charger. It's somewhat similar to a BATTERY TENDER, but has many new higher tech features. It's been very popular in Europe.

**Don't confuse a BATTERY TENDER with BATTERY MANAGER, or BATTERY MINDER and other off shore products available through WALMART or HARBOR FREIGHT or similar sources.
