I see someone upgraded their 2002 that already had the F45 but what about if you had neither?

i have a 98 convertible (automatic) and my suspension is squeaky. want to replace the bushings maybe, but found a set of Z06 shocks with low miles for dirt cheap. it is off a 2003 Z06. Will those 1) fit my car, 2) work with the active handeling? thanks

Yup, that's what I did on my 99. I bought it used, and never could tell a difference in the settings. I didn't know if it was a waste, or just didn't work properly.
I think I paid $100 to have the F45 disabled, then put on Bilstein HD shocks. It's definitely a stiff ride, but it handles way better.
I screwed up when I ordered them. I intended to order the standard Bilsteins, but hit the HD button instead. After I got 'em, I just said "oh what the hell".
If yours is a daily driver and if the your roads are not the best, you may not want the HD's.
Sidenote: there was a Corvette dealer in Montana offering a GM factory Mag Ride suspension replacement for the F45. But it was a couple grand, plus installation, and mine would have been serial no. 1.
Good luck.

I've only had my 2000 vert for a few months now but after driving the 85 for years i can definaly tell the diff between the 3 settings. I usually run in Touring as it helps the front air dam drag in my driving area. When i'm up on the highway i dial it down and enjoy the ride. Just my two cents.
