should i sell it?
There recently were 4 GIs at Fort Sam in San Antonio who might have helped you. They are all now in jail after they all agreed to torch a car. Owner tried to claim car was stolen and got caught.
Sorry to see this happen--especially to some GIs.

the main one that angers me to NO end is my trans. i bought the car in august, by the end of september, second gear was gone (gone, gear and all!) and 5th gear would grind all the time.
got it fixed under extended warranty in october.
and now its doing it again. 2nd gear ALL the time when the car is cold. 5th gear every once in a while.
its not driver error.
and the less annoying one that i haven't figured out yet is a fuel problem that is stopping me from accelerating past 120ish

Its probably in your best intrest to sell it. Keeping it at this point with the combonation of the problems and you leaving for the service doesn't make sence. Like you said, Get another a little down the road. But dont try to sell it on the forum now that you made all the problems public!
One thought to the contrary ,,it is an FRC which has low production #s and are gradually becoming harder to find. Later you could swap out the trans, and a good tuner should be able to figure out the fuel thing, then you'd have a low mile FRC,not something every one else has.My club has about a hundred members many of them have multiple vets, and mine is just the second one in the club,,,,,Just something to think about...GOOD LUCK IN THE SERVICE,from a Viet Nam vet God bless and protect you!!
Sounds like my Bro's 99 FRC, I think he is the 9th owner.
Good thing for him is that his bro spins a wrench on the side and has got just about everything straightened out.
Now it's time for some mods. Head, Cam job and suspension and drive train upgrade coming this winter season.
Just need to figure out the elusive key fob problem.

not sure yet. its financed, so i'm gonna try to get whatever i owe on it. so the longer i wait, the easier it will be to sell because i can sell it for less....
i think my Right Rear wheel bearing is going out now too. heard a high pitched whistling on light accel today!

I had a Acura Integra I bought for my first car. It was 6 yrs old and 60K miles but one owner (although I got it from an auction wholeseller) when I purchased it. I did all the maintenance including timing belt and spent a fortune only to end up getting rid of the car with just under 100K miles. The a/c kept breaking and in Orlando that's a must have. Also, the radiator had to be fixed, new master cylinder, and other stuff. All told I think I had receipts for over $6K in just repairs over 4 yrs. I will never do that again. The first time you have a lemon you typically think maybe this next repair will be it for a while etc. but it doesn't usually work out that way.
I purchased a Acura TL 3.5 yrs old with 51K miles and drove it two years without a single failure item. Luck of the draw on used cars but where you buy it usually has something to do with it and how many owners.

With all the moving around you can expect, if the vette hasn't been reliable ditch it. Theres nothing worse than miltary moves if the car is misbehaving.
You can get another Vette when life settles down again.

the car can be a lemon all it wants, but all the crap parts won't be in the car anymore.

They are not far from you.

I talk to the Speed Inc guys all the time and my buddy owns Area One Motorsports. Too many shops to choose from!
Converting from a coupe to a FRC, with a bunch of other body modifications by ACP Corvette Race Bodies. Hope to have it back in May.
