i have a 99 FRC. just hit 36k miles. picked it up in august 07 with 29k miles (yes, i drive a LOT)
I'm the 7th owner (makes me think i got a lemon)
I've had endless problems with it and i'm starting to get fed up.
I leave for the army in April, so i'm really not gonna be able to drive it anyway.
Is there any point in hanging onto it?
maybe another vette down the line in a couple years for me, but i'm thinking of getting back into another camaro. DD a 98 Z/28 A4 with heads/huge cam/stall for about 10k miles and only costs i had were oil and tires (a LOT of tires)
Were they just normal wear and tear things that would eventually happen because of the age of the Vette? I had the same problem with my 61 Vette i had in the late 60's when i got drafted into the Army. Pushed that sucker more than i drove it. But thinking back i sure wish i hadn't sold it.
I appreciate your service! I suggest you sell it. No sense in keeping it while you're in the service and dealing with it's decreasing value. Also, the trouble you've had makes it an easy decision. Be safe, Ron
I'm not sure about the problems you've had, but it would be a shame to kick it to the curb. I had most of the common issues with my 98 after I bought it. Thanks to this forum, I was able to get everything squared away. Most of my problems stemmed from bad grounds. I could see how someone that was unaware of these issues and fixes, could easily have thought my car was a lemon and gotten rid of it. Again, I have no idea of the problems you've been having, but I'd like to think that you and this forum could fix her up like new. Good luck either way.
Kind of hard to make a take on this, what problems have you had? The prices are close to the bottom now and this FRC is still al low mileage Vette and thanks for your service
I agree with many of the above posts. Sell it since you won't be using it anyway. You can probably buy a cheaper/better one when you get back...good luck
