I had a girlfriendthat owned one and I drove a vette, That was back in 1978, the Opel was really cheap feeling, foriegn cars have really come a long way since then. The headlights were funky, that is why most Opel GT's usually had the headlights in the up position.

I've had 4. My first car in high school was a blue on white '71. I built my 4th one to look like my 1st because I regretted selling it so much. 
This was at a "big Opel meet in N Texas in Spring of '04. I had to sell the little Fart because I stumbled across a '60 Vette that I could not pass up. HHhhmmm. Opel GT or '60??? I felt bad selling the Opel. It was like giving a perfectly good dog to the pound. I looked forever for those 4-spoke Cragars!!!!
The license plates said PORVET.
