Default LS1/LS6 header options

Hey all!

What companies are offering C5 full-length(no cat) headers currently? What are the prices for each set/ material used? I know that C5 headers seem to be much cheaper than headers for a ZR-1 but can't figure out why that would be. I'm wondering if the ones being offered currently(for C5s) are not made of 304 stainless but rather 409(which rusts). Any and all info would be great! Thanks!

I believe that most of the headers offered today for the C5's are mild steel that are jet coated, I have several customers that have had long tube headers on their cars for 3-4 years and there was not a rust problem that I have seen, these are cars driven daily, I had a set of TPIS LT headers on my 2000 convertible that looked the same after 2 years as the day they were installed. You will find most long tube headers for the C5 to coat between 800-1200 dollars.

There are stainless long tubes similar to TPIS in 1 3/4" primaries available for $1000 in satin finish and polished or coated for $1200-$1250. Should be available soon.

Later,

Mike

All C5rs:

Well, it seems I have some great news for you all! I have expanded my LT5 header manufacturing to C5 headers as well! Like the LT5 headers, these are an all one-piece 1-3/4" primary, 304 Stainless full-length header(will never rust, mild steel, 409 stainless will). Availability will probably be the latter part of January/early February. As with the LT5 headers, delivery time will be from 4-6 weeks. Price will be $900 plus shipping and handling(around $50). These headers come with a (limited) lifetime warranty and will indeed last the life of the car. I plan to attend the C5 Gathering next year and could bring as many sets as people want! Thanks for reading.
