Don't know what oil leak problems you are mentioning. All the C5s had problems with the rear differential seals leaking, and the rocking seat problem is common. As with any car model, as the platform aged there were changes made which updated various systems and hardware on the car. Same with the C5. If you want something that has all the updates, get an '04. Otherwise, I would say that the choice of any well maintained C5 is a good choice.
