Trivia: Hardin County has a connection to a couple of your fine Texas folks.
Gunfighter Clay Allison was from Hardin and Wayne counties, moving west after the War Against Yankee Aggression. After his death, brother John moved back here and was elected to local government.
The namesake Hardins here were cousins of John Wesley Hardin, an upstanding member of the Texas Bar and accomplished shootist, according to a local researcher.
I would like to have plates from the Hardin Counties in Texas, Illinois, Iowa and Ohio if anyone has one laying around. (Already have one from Kentucky.)
