i went the fleabay route and pulled the homelink out of the fleabay visor and installed in mine. I did it with a how-to from this site

Bought a used visor from ebay, removed the Homelink transmitter, painted it black, and installed it into my vette visor. I did the wiring, wife did the sewing. The range is less than the clip-on I had from Sears, but it still works great and looks OEM. I use it every day in my daily driver.

I also did the Flea-bay Homelink purchase, I think is was about $25.00 and a couple of hours time. Easy DIY mod.
