Default Wheels Sensors

I had new wheel sensors put on my car a couple days ago and the shop couldn't for whatever reason clear or reset the dash. Something like check wheel tire pressure/sensor or something like that.
Anyway, does somone know what the procedure is to clear this prompt.
I dont want to take it to the dealer for them to reset or whatever when I know I can ge the answer here.
Thanks !!

Probably need to train the TPMs. Do a search for TPM training and you'll be set.

1. Turn the ignition to ON.
2. Press the RESET button in order to clear any IPC display warning messages.

3. Press and release the OPTIONS button on the DIC to scroll through the display options until the IPC display is blank.

4. Press and hold the DIC RESET button for 3 seconds.
Notice: Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Cautions and Notices.

5. Press the OPTIONS button again until the TIRE TRAINING message appears.

6. Press the RESET button until the IPC LEARN L FRONT TIRE message appears in order to begin
the programming sequence.

7. Install the J 41760 Tire Pressure Programming Tool over the left front valve stem.
8. The horn will sound, indicating the left front TPM sensor is programmed.
9. When the horn sounds, proceed to program the next TPM sensor in the following order as directed
by the IPC messages:
- LEARN R FRONT TIRE
- LEARN R REAR TIRE
- LEARN L REAR TIRE
Programming Cancellation
1. The programming mode will be cancelled if any of the following conditions are met: - The program mode is exited through the DIC.
- The ignition is turned to OFF.
- All four sensors have been programmed.
- The TPM system has been in the program mode for longer than 2 minutes and no sensors
have been learned.
2. If the program mode is cancelled with less than four codes stored, the receiver will only accept the codes programmed up to that point

Let me know if you need more information.
I used a magnet from a cb antenna to set mine.
Have a good one

This may be to stupid to ask, but since you mentioned you put in new sensors, did you put in the right sensors? C5s used two different ones; 97-00 and '01+.

Just what I was thinking

Looking at the parts manual your 2000 had the old sensors. In 2001 they fitted the new sensors.

The new sensors are a lot cheaper but use different electronics. New sensors on an older model won't tune.

Here's Gene Culleys prices so you can probably work out from the invoice which sensors they fitted:

||--Genuine GM Tire Pressure Sensors/TPM--||

2001-2004 Sensors

25773946 - sensor – 35.37 each

97-2000 Sensors

10438853 - sensor – 85.89 each

Has it set a DIC code and is it current?

I can check the service manual for you.

The way the system works is that each sensor transmits a pressure reading to the Remote Function Actuator (RFA). It'll set a code if it runs through the diagnostic cycle (for 35 mins at >15mph) and it doesn't receive a signal from a TPS. It will also set a code if any TPS transmitter stops transmitting.

If a code is set the DIC reads "SERVICE TIRE MON SYS" and you get dashes (I've seen XXXs) against the bad TPS

No problem:

Corvette 1997-2000 Codes

To list your codes, turn the ignition key to the ON position, but don't start the engine. Clear any present DIC messages (like Door Ajar, or Service Steering Column) by pressing the RESET button. Then hold the OPTIONS button down, while pressing the FUEL button 4 times. This will get you into the CODES section of the DIC.
The computer will automatically display all the codes your car has created. It will cycle through each code every 3 seconds. You can watch it display codes for every module in your car. If you want to write them down, go ahead. Any code that ends in H is a history code - something that has occurred in the past but is fine now. The computer is very sensitive and would throw a code if you turned the radio off while tuning it.
Once the computer has finished going through all of it's automatic codes, press RESET to enter Manual Configuration. It should start with a module and show "NO CODES" or "# CODES". If it shows a number of codes, press and hold RESET until it displays "NO CODES". This is how you reset your codes.

Here are the relevant codes:

B0-RFA - Remote Function Actuation
• B0605 Receiver Internal Memory Malfunction
• B2805 No Transmitters Programmed
• C2100 Left Front TPM Sensor Malfunction
• C2105 Right Front TPM Sensor Malfunction
• C2110 Right Rear TPM Sensor Malfunction
• C2115 Left Rear TPM Sensor Malfunction
• C2120 TPM System Malfunction (No Sensors Received)
• C2121 TPM System Programming Malfunction (No Sensors Programmed)
• U1000 Loss of Communication Undetermined
• U1016 Loss of Communication with PCM
• U1064 Loss of Communication with BCM
• U1096 Loss of Communication with IPC
• U1255 Serial Data Line Malfunction

I like to do as much diy as I can but when I changed wheels and put on new sensors, I took it to a local dealer and they programed them for about $35 and it only took 30 minutes. Alot less trouble IMO.

YIKES!!!!!!! 30 minutes and $35.00 bucks.

I had to read the directions one time and now I can do it by memory.
All you need is a big magnet and 5 minutes max.It is alot easier that the directions look.

have a good one

To each his own, I guess. For me, with the forum's help, something like this is simple stuff. I'd save the $35 for a job that is truly beyond my ken (and I couldn't hold a candle compared to what some people here tackle ).
