A C5 (vert) if there had been an option for a retractable hardtop? I think I would have.

I'm very happy with my vert just the way it is.
Price, weight, storage room, complexity, all add up to negatives to me.

Besides - I can put my top up and take it back down again in the time that it takes a retractable hardtop to do it's magic act.

yup, weight really does not mean that much to me as I don't race it but didn't think about the room it would take up when down...

No Way. The mechanical device in the C6 takes up half the trunk storage that is already small. Besides I can do it faster by myself

I got a suitcase, a soft bag, a case of beer and a laptop in the trunk with the roof down on my last road trip

My father bought the '01 a few years back cause he'd always wanted a convertible.... hated the road noise (selective hearing, I swear... ). (I bought it off him, noise doesn't bother me. )

He ended up looking into a Mercedes SLK until he test drove a few and labeled them as overpriced, under-optioned, underpowered, POS's.

He just bought a XLR and *loves* it, and I have to agree that the retractable hard top is a rather bad-*** option to have.

XLR is a real nice car, I'm a Cadillac fan and I own an '07 SRX. But.....the XLR with the top retracted doesn't even have room for one golf club, let alone a whole bag or two like the C5!

Yes. I can fit two sets of golf clubs in my trunk with the soft top down. You wouldn't be able to do that with a retractable hardtop.
