I wish I could buy one. If any of the stuff I've heard is true, this might be the best thing you'll see out of GM for awhile. I'm guessing re-sale value will be pretty d*mn sweet ten years from now. Hell try and get a C4 ZR1.
I dont think so, I think the gas crisis is not going away. Get used to 4 and 5 dollars a gallon. People will be driving electric cars in 10 years, and these cars wont be worth a thing. I think enjoy them now , for what its worth.

Man, don't get me started on the price of gas. That's a whole other post to itself. If the oil companies can boast 30+BILLION dollar quarterly profitts, that's over and above all operating costs, then they should be able to sell the crap that can hardly keep my lawn mower running for 50 cents per gallon.
I have also considered this but then I remembered everyone ran to the dealer for the C6Z and paid 20k over sticker and the same will happen again. Now you can get a Z at sticker or better with plenty around with improvments. Wait a year.
You should, if you haven't drive a C6 Z06. I think anything over 500 rwhp is overkill. I have a supercharged C5 and except for the occasional sprint to reach freeway speeds it goes unused. If your taking it to the track that's different.

MUCH OVER THIS AND HAVE A PROBLEM WITH KEEPING THE TIRES TO THE ROAD...AND NOT MUCH WE CAN DO TO THE VETTE AND TRACTION....
You worked for it, spend the way you want too, now if your asking for ideas and if it would be a garage queen I would vote for a nice C1, C2 or even a nice C3, but if you are going to drive as you should get the ZR1!
I hate to be a wet blanket and all that, but just a thought, I'd hate to hang all that money out and not have FUEL to run it. As world politics change and third world countries drive more and more, gasoline shortages will rear their ugly head again. This crazy price roller coaster I believe, is the beginning of it.
Or we can be ballsy unlike the 70's and buy up the ZR1's, Z06's, and Shelby GT 500's for penny's on the dollar, shove them in our garages, and wait for the energy thing to settle. AND IN TURN MAKE A hefty profit!
Still wish I bought that purple hemi Cuda convertible back in 1878!!!
But, I've got a feeling this time it's not going to be pretty, I'm hedging my bets with four 30 plus mpg vehicles in the stable. No Tahoes or Expeditions please!
Like I tell the kids in school, without fuel, my Corvette becomes a Fiberglass chicken "coupe"!!!

Makes you kinda wonder if, 30-40 years from now anyone will be saying "dang, if I'd only have known what that car would be worth today, I'd have bought one way back in 2009". Yes, remember how many times we've said that about a C2 Fuelie or a mid-year BB. Could this be another one of those missed opportunities just like the ones we passed on years ago?
