you are not alone because i feel the same way when i park my vet in parking lot far away from others, but it only takes an old car with a vet hater to park beside your vet and dent the door, think i saw that on tv before lol....

I tried to park in BFE, Didn't work! I hope this doesn't make someone puke. View with caution! I was in the store for less than 15mins.

Same here. I have other vehicles I drive when its raining, snowing, windy etc. I always park at the end of the lot too. I bouht my wife a new SUV about a year ago and there are already 5 or 6 door dins in it. People are so fricking ignorant. Even if I had a P.O.S. I wouldn't open my door into another vehicle; it's just common courtesy.

But it never fails...come out of the store and there's a rusted 1979 Ford pickup with "Billy Joe Jim Bob's Lawn Service" scrawled on the side...and he's parked six inches from your car with 100 empty spaces around.
I believe Billy Joe Jim Bob's Lawn Service has branched out as we see him around here quite often Could not agree more

Seeing as how my C5 is the 4th Corvette I've owned.....I got over it quite a while ago....I just drive it and enjoy it....I wouldn't spend that much money for something I was afraid to drive in public...I'd just buy a picture of one and save a ton of money..............

I drive mine every day and I'm still nuts. If I hear someone outside the office (property manager) I look outside to make sure they are not touching my Vette. Nobody has yet. I had a little girl sit on the front bumper of my previous car and I yelled at her and scared all the little kids.

Mine is not perfect, but I know every flaw, and don't want more! BFE the place for me.

I'm protective but not obsessive. There are far larger things in life to be concerned about.

I have the sickness too. To give you an example of how bad I have it. when I take it to the store and park it I find the highest point in the parking lot and as far away from other cars as possable, just in case a cart gets loose.

living deep in the heart of Bubba Truck heaven, it drives me nuts to park the car out in the parking lot boonies and when i come back, there's a big 'ol 4X4 diesel dually parked 6" from the car....with a 100 parking spaces all around.....I think they do it on purpose...lol....so far, no scratches or other damage....did get a soft poke on the nose the other evening when Sally Co-ed in Mama's Buick pulled in the space in front of me and tapped it...fortunately, no harm done....

I am crazy about my car and I have always parked anything I drove out in BFE, I just drop off the wife and kids and go park the car. But, the vette is so much fun to drive and it makes my 48 mile commute enjoyable, especially now with the top down even better. That being said it is not a Bentley GT, Ferrari or an Astro Martin, so I can actually park it a ways off and not worry about it the whole time I'm doing whatever. But I fully understand the way some people are who want it perfect, to each his own.

I am protective, but in the end it is still a car. I bought it to drive and enjoy. It is not garage kept so it sees all the elements, and it is a daily driver...I just compulsively wash, wax, and polish it...if you get up REEAAAALY close, it has a few nicks and a hairline scratch or two, but I must say it looks good.

Apparently I'm not as obsessive about this as some. I do what I can to park in smart places to minimize anyone getting near it, but I don't walk away stressing about it.

If something is gonna happen.....it's just gonna happen and I'll deal with it when it does.

I think the majority of folks respect the car and are careful. It's that small percentage that'll mess things up and they'll do that no matter where it's parked if it's not locked up in the garage.

When I park my car in the garage, I let the window open so I can park to the walll closer so that I don't get ding by the other car. That other "car" is my dad's 00' vert that he stores in my garage when he goes back and forth to Chitown.

I drive the stang to work, and it takes me close to seven minutes just to get past the company's security , so just imagine how I'm with the vette.

I went to this party once, and some fat butts were sitting on my bumper and the hood . I got in the car, turned it on, and took off without any warning . Man was I pissed .
