Driving to work this morning, I switched lanes to get out from behind a slow driver, travelling at about 30mph I gave the car a little gas and next thing I know is I'm almost sideways and the car auto corrected before I could even think "oh S**t!" absolutely amazing. I guess the roads had a little frost on them I am fortunate
saved my *** in the rain one day on I-95 at about 40 mph You gotta love a math genius
It would be mighty odd if you did. Does the button area look like this?
thats exactly the button on my console and when i switch it "on" my DIC says my traction control is "off " so i don't know is going on. Any help anyone?
It is great technology...makes me think to the drivers who get in and turn the traction control off before they leave their parking stall. **** can go bad in a hurry with this much torque and wide tires...especially on a wet (or frozen ) road. Glad to hear you are alright.

When you start your car your active handleing and traction control is on --DO not turn it off--thats what happens when you push the button momentarily--push this button in and hold it there until DIC says-competitive mode-release button now your in competition mode --now your active handling sensors are on but traction control (smoke tires ) is off --GET IT BRO -- hit reset button to access guages thru DIC --you will stay in comp mode until you turn car off or hit that button again--just make sure you know what mode your in--again on the DIC-- you do not want to be driving in the rain with no active handling Or drag racing-it could save you from a wall as it has others hereExperiment with that button and know its operation it could save your car and your life !!!!!!!!

I am not opposed to getting on it from time to time , but this was entirely innocent... HONEST BTW How in the hell have you seen me drive my car before?

OK now I think I know who you are, profile visit , are you coming back to the Power Tour this year? And I didn't even smoke 'em up at the burnout competition
Ha ha i was wondering if you'd remember. yeh, i'm hitting power tour again this year, can't freakin wait. it's actually going to end here in madison! i figure i'll pick it up in springfield mo, and go from there then next year do the long haul since it will start from here. BTW the burnout competition was good times, you guys are great host and fun to hang with.

Props for a good guy, good luck on the PT hope you don't get smoked again by all the older rides out there.
I had mine do the same thing while upshifting in my lane at 35mph. In my case my "hyper sensitive ****" informed me the back end was moving and I was able to correct before the active handling kicked in. I'm about ready to find a parking lot and see what it takes to get it to kick in. I am quick but I really shouldn't be quicker than the sensors or computer.
I know what you mean... I usually can catch wheelspin just before the traction control kicks in... I would think the computer would be quicker.
After all, I'm an old geezer (60).
I've only managed to engage the active handling once on a cool morning in the rain. And again, I caught it about the same time. The only reason I knew the active handling engaged is the DIC told me so.

WHY would you think that? You're like the second or third guy who's posted a comment like that and I just don't get it. This is a CORVETTE guys not a minivan. a little wheelspin in a vette doesn't mean that somethings wrong! the computer is set up with a built in level of acceptable tire spin and yaw angle before it steps in. the goal of that is to be able to have some fun while still having a "safety" net. It makes since to me but i drive with the tc off anyway in the summer.
I still find it funny when people imply that if you drive with the active handling off that you are a wreck waiting to happen... what about us guys who do not even HAVE active handling?
I'm a spirited driver, when the car (seldom) gets away from me I only use the old fashioned steer into skid and pedal modulation. T/C kicks in every now and then, but when on the street the T/C stays on.
Bottom line is, if you respect the cars performance and know how it performs, situations that are within your control where active handling will "save you" will not occur in the first place.

You might find it funny but i know most people don't have the talent or knowledge to drive even cars with just 300 rwhp and when they don't know(AH)its operation or implications --nothing good is gonna come from that--not implying disaster merely helping less talented drivers to understand the cars capabilities (even 300rwhp can get ugly if your stupid in poor weather conditions)and to possibly save their butt--Mine is in comp mode all the time--hard for a car to get away from you if traction control is on - Ps who needs traction controlTurn it all off and do some controlled power slides then tell me you don't need it!!!!

The crazy thing about my **** saving is that this truly came out of nowhere. I seldom take my car to work(around 6am.) and I wasn't paying the same attention that I would have been if I were trying to do any sort of performance driving, but some of your reflexes must be spectacular . I have indeed had the AH help out before, but only in situations where it was to be expected. I'm not the most talented driver here by any means, but I am familiar with the feeling of the rear sliding out a time or 50 Just commenting on a very positive aspect of this car and how it does indeed work. Some other American V-10's come to mind, advantage me.

I had a similar incident and corrected it on my own. I was wondering at the time why the "active handling" didn't save it for me. I think a wet parking lot is a good idea.
Lost the rear end once changing lanes and giving it light throttle. Not sure what happened, but it slid out DAMN quick.
I either do not have Active Handling, or it didn't do a damn thing. My *** end was in the other lane and the car was at a 45degree angle at 65mph.
The only thing that saved MY *** that night was somehow keeping my wits and lifting the throttle as fast as I could to snap the rear end back in a straight line. I was lucky...period.

Actually, lifting off the throttle fast in the described situation above actually throws the weight of the car foward, causing even more rear movement, especially if you don't have active handling.
That's why you never hit the brakes or shift in a corner as you unsettle the car.
