Default Active handling saved my ****!!

Driving to work this morning, I switched lanes to get out from behind a slow driver, travelling at about 30mph I gave the car a little gas and next thing I know is I'm almost sideways and the car auto corrected before I could even think "oh S**t!" absolutely amazing. I guess the roads had a little frost on them I am fortunate

I had mine do the same thing while upshifting in my lane at 35mph. In my case my "hyper sensitive ****" informed me the back end was moving and I was able to correct before the active handling kicked in. I'm about ready to find a parking lot and see what it takes to get it to kick in. I am quick but I really shouldn't be quicker than the sensors or computer.

Sometimes it doesn't take much to send the back end swinging - and active handling works very well to correct it.

No real throttle given just an upshift ( I have an auto) , the quickness of correction was amazing

Putting mine in the 'Competitive Mode' has saved me at the track a couple times... ...Active Handling = Good Stuff...

Active Handling is in addition to Traction Control. It was introduced during the mid year 2000 production run. If you have it, the button on the console should say “Active Handling”

Active handling is great for everyday driving, no so great when you're on a road race course.

Glad you and your C5 are still with us.

It would be mighty odd if you did. Does the button area look like this?

I stand corrected, looks like it came out in 1998
Guess I was mixing it up with something else, maybe the HUD or something.
