Sinclair used to carry 93 but now I can only find 91. Anyone know where you can get higher than 91 in Oklahoma City?

I sometimes hear you can run 87 and the computer will adjust to it and no harm done, is this true?

Yes, New cars all have knock sensors that will retard timing to match the octane you put in the tank. Depending on the kind of driving you do, you may not notice the difference. However, if you take your car to the track, you certainly don't want to run with retarded spark. Your competition will be using the good stuff and maximum spark advance.

Unless you are seeing KR under a WOT load...it will feel no different.
If you can tune specifically for that fuel, and get some timing advance out of the deal, then perhaps....
Best performance without tune alteration = the lowest octane you can get away with without inducing knock/ping.

I think 91 is the highest here in Tucson. I know Chevon & Shell are 91, but I'm never checked Exxon.

why would you want to use 87 in a performance car? I use 93! and I spray 150 shot at it. No problems
