Anyone have issues with these "unsticking"?
Just received some new wheels and some of the weights appear to be not sticking properly, cold weather?
Any remedies?

If they were just done, it would seem the shop should be able to handle that. Maybe they did not clean the area good. Mine have been on for a while with no problems. I'd start with whomever did the balancing.
Unfortunatley that's not possible, they are 1500 miles away! I'm thinking they didn't have enough time to set up and were thrown into the cold during shipping?

if the surface of the wheel was not clean or was cold when the weight was applied it will affect the adhesion. if applied correctly they should hold reguardless of temp

Mine set up right away, Wheel has to be very clean for them to stick right, Some have put tacky tape over the weights to hold them, But if it is done right they will stay. You might go to another store and have them redone and see if the place you bought the wheels from will pay for it.
I have the "stick-ons" on all my vehicles and have never had a problem with any of them. I would say if the shop does the proper job of prepping the wheel for the weights, you should not have any problems.

I understand this, BUT, the shop is across country, these are new wheels, the weights are already on, and I need to do something to "re-adhere" them?
I'm thinking if I heat them up a little, it may make them stick better?

You are driving a Corvette, Not a Pinto, Do the right thing and pay to have them re-done, You said they are new, Tell the shop you bought them from that the wheel weights are comming off and I am sure they will pay to fix the prob

Oooh, that is a problem, so, the two things to be done are both mentioned by Bill K, either way it has to be done. Good luck....

Ok, I understand your delima. Not sure if simply heating them up won't just make them gummy and not more adherant. You might need to check with a local tire shop and have them re-balanced.

see that's where your opinion is opposite of mine...I ALREADY PAID to have them done, and will not PAY again, so I will do myself, and not let the next guy screw it up twice, Pinto or not.

Mine's been on for years and still holding strong. If the shop didn't get the area really clean, the weights could pop loose. Might want to have them redo the ones that are not sticking right.
They put peripheral weights on mine and they cause separation at the beads and a slow leak. Even with problems with adhesion, stick on weights are the way to go
I try to clean the inside of my wheels before getting new tires, and also if you wipe the clean insides with an alchohol wipe, that will reduce the chance of oil and such from interfering with adhesion.
