Alright well this thread definitely makes me feel better. I am still going to buy a raptor shift light, I wanted one before I hit the limiter. It's weird, the only time I usually come close to shifting to late is first gear going to second.

The stock tach is known to lag. If you're watching it, and intend to shift at redline, you will usually hit the limiter before seeing the needle in the red.
Hitting the rev limiter due to acceleration is fine. Thats what its there for. Hitting the rev limiter because of a blown shift.... Thats when there is problems.
Rev limiters, Knock sensors, Oil Life monitors, Drivers information centers..., system fault readers.... all this nonsence... we should a built them like your grandfather's buick...and be hoping for 60,000 miles before they became leak buckets and ready for the junk yard...Some one else just mentioned to me that they hit the 300,000 mile mark with no real problems..
