Default Accidentally hit rev limiter

Tonight I accidentally hit the rev limiter going into third. I have never done this before, but is there anything I should or could do? I am going to buy a raptor shift light soon.

It's there for a reason. It's no big deal to bump into it occasionally.

I found out that an A4 has a rev limiter as well and there's a shift light in the HUD

Caused me a few moments stress when I first found it.

I'd say the LS1 was designed to hit max revs every now and again

Mine has bounced off the rev. limiter on occasion, usually when the tires break loose. No worries.

Just pay attention, you don't really need a shift light. I shift based on the sound/pitch of the engine, I know when it is within 200-300 rpm of the limiter. Bumping the limiter on occasion won't hurt anything, it's a safety net, that's what it is for.

As long as you don't do it all the time, you should be OK. It is there to protect the engine from damage.

Great our Vettes have the rev limiter as the old school cars did not and lots of extra blowin motors as a result and I have been known to test mine out every now and then

Default These cars really suck

Rev limiters, Knock sensors, Oil Life monitors, Drivers information centers..., system fault readers.... all this nonsence... we should a built them like your grandfather's buick...and be hoping for 60,000 miles before they became leak buckets and ready for the junk yard...Some one else just mentioned to me that they hit the 300,000 mile mark with no real problems..

Limiters are to be beaten like red-headed step children.

At least once a week and more if needed.
It is a scary feeling though, for a split second, you think to yourself, what have I broke
