been doing the wholechanging the reservoir a couple times a week....still coming out dark....not having any trouble with the clutch 12k miles, but I'd like to bleed the slave to get all the crap fluid out of there and it would probably majorly speed up the cleaning up the fluid process...is this reachable without taking anything out....ie x pipe and stuff....if thats the case ill do when i do headers next weekend... Ill be doing trans fluid, rear end fluid, headers and catless x pipe, bleed slave, plugs, wires and gaskets....and boom should be good to go for a while....just wait on my tuning stuff and I'll hit up the track again for some 11's
I can't say enough how bleeding the slave improved the feel of my clutch pedal! You can use a vacuum tool and do everything from the reservoir, but I did it the way that involves removing the exhaust and tunnel plate.
Good step-by-step on that site. It helps if you have small hands too. It took about 10 cycles of bleeding to get the fluid coming out to be nice and clear. When the fluid came out on the first few bleeds, it was so incredibly black and dirty looking! I just don't see how the bad fluid in the slave could ever come out unless you bleed at the slave. But yes, you'll be glad you did it. I'd say wait until you change the other fluids and put your headers on and do it all at once.
yea i'll have to do while i do the headers....I'll have it on a nice drive on lift....thanks...so i assume you did the reservoir change and then finally the slave bleed and the difference awesome?...like i previously stated no clutch probs but i dont want any and i want the clutch to be predictable and release at the same spot EVERY time......after you do the slave and keep the reservoir clean will i need to continue to do the slave or just keep the fluid clean in the reservoir
thanks
