Default Smooth power coupler worth it ?

I am still waiting to install my new BB shorty headers and decided to also install a smooth, so called power coupler in place of the accordian OEM style, which if nothing else, will be a much more easy task to keep clean.

Mfg. CLAIMS 3 to 5 H.P. increase, true or false ?

Did I just waste 46.00 bucks ?

Thanks,

I don't think it would add any extra HP. It's kinda like the hood seal.
But, that said. I did install them both. Looks better anyway.

If it is just the coupler and no aftermarket intake i.e. Black wing, Varra ram I don't see a real increase. However it looks better easier to keep clean and I am sure there is a very minimual performance enhancement from it.

Nice under hood, very attractive! Looks like the same one except mine will be black. I do have dual cone intakes and also shorty BB`s soon, can`t wait !

And since I have the "worst" CAI intake dual cone type, which once again the hype says more turbulance, loss of power, etc., I thought the smoother flow in might help improve the airflow. But again bottom line, it can`t hurt and like I already stated, cleaning will be much improved, getting dirt out from between the ribs kinda sucked some.

Anyway, hey whatever floats ones boat, I spect.

I read the same claim that it was good for an additional 5hp due to the fact that the air flow was not disturbed as in the original coupler. I bought mine more for the looks then the added hp, althought if there is an additional hp gain, I am not going to complain.

I could have sworn that I felt a difference right after I put mine on, but then again, I think it runs better right after a fresh coat of wax!

Doubt you will see any power increase, but it will look better.

It sure is a PITA to put on compared to the stock coupler. Looks nice, but can't comment on performance either way since I didn't notice a change.
