Man, signed off and came back today, and what a bunch of posts.
Anyway, I was in a left turn lane on a very busy 5 lane road. Just sitting there, not even looking at anything but the car in front of me. Suddenly, the C5 pulls up beside me, puts it in neutral, revs the poop out of it, and then takes off - he or she had a green light so it stopped long enough to do the rev.
I guess I'm not understanding the point of this post - did you come over here from C3 Gen to accuse all C5 owners of being dickwads or did you come over here looking for sympathy?
So someone threw a rev at you - is this the first time it has ever happened? In my mind it's kind of an unspoken rule that you respect all generations of Corvettes - and it looks like you encountered someone who doesn't share that philosophy. Sorry it ruined your day.
I guess the next time some ricer or Mustang or Chrysler Hemi, or some soccer mom in a minivan, or whomever driving whatever throws a rev - you should jump on that corresponding forum and make a similar post. I generally ignore stuff like this and move on, you should do the same.
Peace my Corvette brother.
Hey, just thought I would mention what happened. I love all corvettes. At my age, I can go back to the late 50's. Friend had one. Been into them since then. Did not ruin my day, just made me appreciate a classic car. Went home and waxed it. Wanted it to feel appreciated since a big dog wanted to pee on it.

Generally - the folks around here are pretty friendly. This has been an age-old issue...."A C6 didn't wave at my C5 - a c5 didn't wave at my C4, and on and on..."
We all share your pain. Not everyone who drives a Corvette "gets it". Especially now with C5's costing less than a new Civic. All kinds of jerk-offs and dickwads driving them, they are not enthusiasts like you are, they want something cheap and fast and yes - obnoxious.
I now understand your post - you were sharing your experience, and it's one we've all had. Personally - I'm sorry you encountered one of those Corvette drivers. Enjoy your C3 - and sorry if I came off preachy. It's all good!

Sounds like he was saying hello!
I don't think he was trying to show off, he probably didn't think you would see the wave. Would you have been as mad if he blew the horn?

Nice post! It would seem that the younger the Corvette owner the more likely they are to not "get it". Of course there are idiots that don't "get it" both old and young, but in my experience, the young ones are the biggest violators.
To the OP, glad you came back and clarified your post. The guy that revved at you was just being an azzhat and that's not right
On a somewhat common note, I do that to other cars too. Happens to me also. Not once has it been taken or received as something negative. Been with some imports and Corvettes, and never been a bad thing. I think the rev is the new wave LOL. BTW my uncle has/had a gorgeous C3 T-top that I love. All Corvettes are nice!
