My brother in law had one of those. He referred to it as a ceasefire; glad you've got it running.
205K miles. Never had a problem with yur term ceasefire.
Just replace the injectors, balance the tbi's (this i suppose to be near impossilbe), corrected the fuel pressure, made sure the tps was correct, and, voila , eveything perfect. But this was just a fine tuning. In 205K miles, the crossfire NEVER caused a problem. Hope your fi gives you the same reliability. 82 never failed to start, anytime, anywhere, anyplace. Another uninformed comment.
Personally, I would've rev'ed at you and tried to instigate a friendly run. If you didn't respond, I would started a rumor around town that you were one of those guys who bought a Corvette just to be noticed and trying to extend your manhoood.

Hey, ported intake as a starter. Taken off about 2 seconds off 0 - 60. Races a Lambo about a week ago. I have GREAT 0-15 times (3.5 rear end on a 3.06 first. Break rubber in second on hard concrete. Then die, as expected). It would have been fun. But I was in the turn lane sitting. He was in the traffic lane, still, stopped in a moving traffic lane. How does that work that I could challenge him. Maybe more C5 idiocy.

I really think you took it all wrong. You should feel honored that he felt inclined to stop next to you and give a little rev. Heck maybe he was there waving and you didn't notice so he decided to give a rev?
I have gotten revs from mustangs/camaros/montes/muscle cars in general always followed by a thumbs up or a wave. And I would do the same back. This would happen while they pass going the opposite direction or just in traffic. It doesn't happen a lot but every time it did I never took offense to it. Not sure why you are? And a few of those mustangs scared the **** out of me They were faaaar from stock
I got reved at by a riced honda. I just gave him the and threw back a little roar from my not so loud flowmasters still sounded good tho. He nodded and gave me a back. Probably just want to hear the vette rev or just showing that he is a fellow enthusiast. I can respect that.
I have a savings account going for my next vette... guess what its going to be? C3!!!
Had this same thing happen a few times when I had my C4. I always took it as a compliment; a sort of "seal of approval". It put the corvette grin all over my face. I don't understand what you're so upset about.
OK, not upset anymore. Should have realized he/she/it was admiring my car since it looks so good.
Next Saturday is a car show in Sugarland. I think I will go and see if I can find he/she/it and thank him for the compliment.
Maybe I should troll Highway 6 hoping to find him also and we can have a good time (troll Highway 6, not C5 General )
Thanks to all for setting me straight.
There...now you feel all warm and fuzzy again. Now go out for a cruise and rev a few Prius drivers, you will feel so much better when you get back home.

Now that there is funny, I don't care what you say
