All REAL Corvettes are verts.
Oh god, did I just say that, here come the flames.
But really if it's gonn'a be a weekend car that you don't have to drive
in bad weather or park in a place you are worried about then get the vert.
Every nice day you are out in your coupe and you see a topless corvette go by you are gonn'a be pissed that you didn't get a vert.
And becides the tires are not as noisy with the top down.
Enjoy whatever you get and don't forget to WAVE.
Get a convertible. It's like a motorcycle except alot more confortable. The top is easy to drop and put up. It really is a great way to escape from the day's problems I've had eleven vette-8 have been verts. They're the best.
Unless I overlooked it, since you like the look of a FRC get the vert and a "bolt on" actually uses the vert top locks, hard top for when you want the look of a FRC or going somewhere that you would feel safer with a hardtop, put it on a pulley system in your garage to make install/removal easy. I have room in the trunk to go away with my wife for the w/e even with the top down, just use dufflebags instead of hard luggage, it's much easier. Those beautiful summer nights are made for verts!
It was no question for me back in 2000, when I was shopping for a Vette that it had to be a Vert. IMHO the lines are perfect with the top down and its no surprise since the C5 was designed as a Vert first. Now if we were talking C6's, the C6 Z's lines for me are perfect.
our first 6 Corvettes were coupes; intentionally... and our latest (number 7) is our first vert. The first three were daily drivers, and we have winters-with-snow here... so I can imagine you get our reasoning for buying coupes.
Corvette 4 was a coupe, mainly because our previous were all coupes; although it was not our daily driver.. Corvette #5 is a C5 coupe... I wasn't all that crazy about verts - because the coupe with it's tinted top could still give an airy feeling inside even when all closed up (which the vert couldn't when the top is up).
Corvette 6 was a 1973 coupe and I flat-out never liked the C3 verts styling. And #7 is our first vert; 2003
what does all this mean ?????????
now with #7 being a vert - we really like it. And still owning #5 ('02 coupe) at the same time I must say that with top-off/down weather the vert is the nicer car to cruise in
But during top-on/up weather (including scorching hot days) I still prefer the coupe and it's semi-transparent top.
I let the daily driver be my hard top. That way, when I take the sports car out, it is special and different. I have had a BMW Z3, BMW ///M Roadster, Viper RT/10, and Porsche Boxster S, all before this Vette. All convertibles and loved that about everyone of them. I personally like the look of the vert top up and love driving it when it is down. Nothing like the feel of enjoying the great weather. My vote, Vert.

Only a couple of handfulls of those made. I have seen two of them over the past 5 years. I do enjoy the four rare color convertibles that I am fortunate to own. Guess I need a MY/Red/Black Z-51 Auto G92 to make my collection complete.

I chose the coupe over the vert because I wanted the extra storage room and did not feel like paying the price difference for the vert. I am satisfied with being able to take the targa off and enjoy some open air driving. Besides, I like the lines of the coupe better.

I have never seen or herd of a hard top for a C5 Vert.
Is it for real?
I do not like the "hatchback" targa vette, would never even consider one..the "coupe" looks nice, but the ultimate for a non daily driver is a Convertible!!

yes it's for real, carravaggio comes to mind and one other I can't remember, but they are pricey(approx. 3K) unless you find a used one, which I've seen but not too often. I plan on buying one myself
