Do they have a swap program? My vette is my daily driver. I can't just take out the computer and wait a week or two for the return. I need to get this done though.
You can definitly drive the car with the EBCM removed. The only thing you loose is the ABS (the brakes will operate just like they did for the 65 years before the advent of ABS). Just cover up the exposed part of the other half of the brake valve that you remove the ebcm from.
Just a note about doing this. I appears that some may be under the mistaken impression that the only thing that ever goes wrong with the Traction Control/ Active Handeling System is that the EMCM goes bad. That is definitly not the case. A bunch of things will put the system out of service (bad or misconnected wheel speed sensors, a bad ground point somewhere, a bad steering position sensor, heck even at times electrical glitches from a bad battery or charging system fault).
Your best bet is to get the problem properly diagnosed, (either by pulling the dic codes and posting here, or by taking it to a qualified mechanic ) and if it is the ebcm, then absfixer is the best thing to do.
Just posted because it seemed some thought that sending the ebcm out will be the answer to any problem they have with the TC/AH System.
Coincidentally, I had replaced my 7 year old battery, just 2 weeks before this happened. I've read of the same sequence of events happening to another member. Electrical spike, perhaps?
No need to disconnect the battery ! Make sure you bag and tie the connectors down tight if you wanna drive it while the unit is out.
I found that my 24" flexible Snap-on screwdriver with a magnetic apex holder to keep the torx bit in place made the install a snap. The screws arn't ferrous and won't stay attached to the driver but not having to lay on the fenders made me feel better. Cleared the codes and "good to go".

I'm just glad I bought aftermarket warranty. Mine went out after about four months of owning the car, and I just paid the $100 deductible for the POS last October or Nobember. Now my car is good again.
If you dont mind me asking, what company did you go with....i tried to get this exact issue warrentied along with a few other similar ones, and my company said they dont cover "modules"
I think my car was one of the first few Vettes done by ABSFixer (done in Feb '07) and it is still working great!! Still some of the best money I have spent/saved on my car!
