Just came home from running a couple of errands,In the rain both ways!! The way the weather has been lately I'd hardly ever get to drive it if I didn't..So far it hasn't started to melt. Can't afford to go to any place that would have valet parking,,Unless they start it at McDonald's or Hardy's
I own a car that doesn't see rain, a '67 convertible. Last week I purchased a '99 FRC and drove it home, 1,500 miles. The second day it rained, so I am now FREE to drive until my heart is content without stressing on rain. I'm FREE, I'm FREE!!

Remember the guy in the parking garage on Ferris Bueller's Day Off? "Don't worry I'm a professional" he said as he took the extra money to watch the car. You were in the restaurant with a lobster bib on stuffing your face while your car was jumping railroad crossings. Check your suspension is all I have to say.

When he says "relax, Im a professional" Under his breath Cameron mumbles "a professional what?"
Well, I guess I am going to get flamed. First, I drove in the RAIN and VALET park tonight. I was running late for a dinner reservation at Joe's Steak and Stone crab inside Caesars Palace. I figured the vette was the fastest way to get there. Anyways, I slipped the valet some $$$ and kept the car parked upfront with cones around it. After dinner, it was sprinkling just enough to make the road slippery and the car dirty.
It's a Corvette, but it's still just a car. I respect the people that won't drive their Vette in the rain or snow, or let a Valet touch it, but I have 92+ DD miles on mine, it looks and runs great, and I wouldn't change a thing. The amount of pleasure I've gotten from all that driving in all kinds of conditions far exceeds the amount I would get if I had spent the last 8 years keeping it in a climate controlled dust-free showroom.. IMHO, drive that thing !
Someone will be around today to confiscate the Vette and replace it with what you deserve - a rusty Civic. Please have the keys & papers ready.
Funny thing, my dd is a 97 civic with 190k on the clock! When I pu the car from the valet, I feel like an idiot as it took me a few minutes to figure out how to work the windshield wipers! Spent a couple of hours cleaning the crime scene and got rid of any evidence from the rain.
Living in washington, ive driven in the rain at least once a week, i just take a rag over her more often than i do my wifes Kia. As for the valet, wrong move. All the valets ive seen at hotels and restaraunts have been 18-19 year old kids with a giant grin on thier face when they see my bright red shiny vette roll up.
