Broke the corvette code
My wife wishes I was more like you...
In her car anything goes. I gave up that fight 2 cars ago for her...
In my car, no food, water is ok, DEFINATELY no valet. I don't like people driving my car. In my fun car, formerly BULLITT now VETTE, no rain unless I happen to get caught in it accidentally.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
1. Valeted it.
2. Drove it in rain.
3. Drove it in snow.
4. Let it be dirty more than 15 mins.
5. Gone fast in it.
6. Threw up on the side of it while I was blitheringly drunk and my friend had to drive me home.
I am happy to report that the vehicle did not self distruct or melt. I guess the Corvette is a car after all, who knew?

Hahaha love number #6. I did that on my first car... an 89 Taurus.
I drove my C5 in the rain Sunday (I've only had it since Friday). Its my only car until I get a winter vehicle oct/nov before we get snow in Michigan. Until then I'm going to drive the **** out of it.

. With proper care, maintenance, and professional repairs, the car looks and runs better than the day I bought it in almost every respect. Some rock chips on the front (who doesn't drive their car regularly and not have some of those) and a few tiny knicks in the paint here and there, but all very minor stuff that the average person would never notice. From 5 or 10 feet away it looks like a new car, as does the interior and under the hood. About the only way you'd know it's a daily driver with 92K on it is from the undercarriage, which could stand to be dressed up.
Don't be afraid to drive these things, just use some common sense. If you live an area where hail is not uncommon, keep it garaged when there's a chance of severe weather. Driving it in the rain or snow aren't going to hurt it (though the tires don't usually care for the snow too much
), but one good hail storm can total your car. I'd also keep it off the road in severe wind conditions if you want to protect your paint job and the glass. Other than that, rock on!
. Rain is inevitable. Many Vettes sat on a dealer lot in many rain storms before bought. I will caution on the valet. A friend of mine use to do it and told me of the horror stories of the valets having competitions as to how fast they could get cars to go in a parkig lot structure. When I had a C4 a valet brought my car around for me to realize that they had been driving around with the e-brake on the whole time (granted those e-brakes were a bit of a pain). You did the best thing though, pay a couple extra buck for them to keep it upfront. Heck many nice resturaunts and clubs have no problems obliging as having nice cars out front makes them look good (its like the car version of the velvet rope). We may not have Ferrari's or Lambos, but my Vette was good enough to sit out front next to them in front of some pretty posh clubs and resturaunts in Orange Co, CA and Philly. And in regards to my carwash experience, I brough my last C5 to one and it broke down with my car in the soap cycle. Because the soap had been on so long, it ended up leaving an irridecent film on my windows that would not come off.
